She spent more than twenty years in the Hong Kong public sector before setting up a start-up in the power industry, where she introduced the world’s leading high voltage cable accessory brands to China’s power plants.

Sam started his career with an international engineering consultant firm, responsible for design works. Before joining his family business, Sam served at the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC) of Hong Kong, responsible for the Airport Railway project.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree and a Master of Engineering degree, both in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK).

Edward brings over 30 years of extensive experience in commercial and corporate banking in Hong Kong and Canada, having held key positions in credit & marketing and loan portfolio administration & auditing in international financial institutions including GE Capital and DBS. During his tenure at GE, Edward was recognised with President Award for Commercial Loan Acquisition.

Edward is also a non-executive director of a property investment and trading group in Hong Kong, providing overall investment and business strategies in Hong Kong and Canada for over 20 years.

Edward holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in Banking and Investment.  He is  an investment member of Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom.

Prior to founding SP, Michael was the Global Head of R&D for Nexans High Voltage Cable Accessories.  He developed many high voltage products that transformed the power industry, such as the one-piece 110kV outdoor dry termination. Michael was also the Swiss representative to Study Committee 21 of CIGRE for 7 years before relocating to Hong Kong.
 
A world-renowned expert in the field, Michael published numerous whitepapers that drive technology advancements in power and energy.
  At SP, Michael has three patents in “High Voltage Cable Joints with Improved Electrodes”; “High speed outdoor train termination”; and “High voltage GIS cable termination with clamping device”. His wealth of international experience included leadership positions in Cossonay, Cablex, Alcatel, Nexans, and Binnie Black and Veatch in Europe, Middle East and Asia.

A seasoned engineer, Ning brings over 20 years of sales experience in the High Voltage industry. Having trained extensively in Switzerland on production and installation when he was representing Alcatel high voltage cable accessories in China, Ning was a pioneer in implementing numerous high voltage cable projects in China.


Ning joined SP on its inception in 2004.

Matthew Smith, Global Head of Market Development – Internet of Things, Cisco

Matthew leads a global team, driving the creation of disruptive market opportunities around the global market for the Internet of Things. Matthew’s charter is to work with large Multi-National and Government customers to develop digital strategies for outcome based technology solutions.

Prior to founding SP, HM has held a diverse set of leadership positons, centred mainly within CLP Power, one of the stalwarts of the Hong Kong, Hang Seng Index. During his tenure with CLP, HM was responsible for regional power system design, installation, maintenance and power supply to end-users. He has also performed end-to-end design and installation of numerous high-voltage and extra high-voltage systems, as well as submarine cable systems.

A Chartered Engineer who holds an Engineering degree from Hong Kong University (1971), HM, with 30 years’ combined with his rich experience in CLP, has patents pending in “High Voltage Cable Joints with Improved Electrodes” and is published in 2003, APSCOM, Hong Kong, “Installation of a 400 kV, 1000 MVA underground link with advanced monitoring systems, through Kowloon (Hong Kong)”.

Edward is the Chief Financial Officer of Swiss Polymeric, responsible for the financial strategy and operations for the company.

Recently appointed as CEO, Jean leads a team of highly skilled and diversified industry experts, focused on contributing to the sustainable growth of cities, meeting the ever-growing demand for electricity.  She is also committed to expand the business within Asia Pacific and develop a strong digital agenda for future intellectual property development in what is a high growth sector.

Jean brings over fifteen years of international experience in the high-tech industry driving innovations, revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Swiss Polymeric, Jean was the Head of Marketing for Cisco’s services business within Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China. At Cisco, Jean led a regional team focused across Cisco’s services, software and analytics portfolio with a strong emphasis on Digital marketing & automation, and building Cisco’s story around the Internet of Things. Jean and her team have been recognized with many of the industry’s awards for breakthrough innovations and customer experience, including:

Prior to joining Cisco, Jean held management positions at Verizon Business.  Jean began her career in the high-tech industry with a Hong Kong-based start-up specialising in Artificial Intelligence.  As the COO, Jean was responsible for sales, marketing, merger & acquisition, and business operations.

Jean holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco.

Matthew joined Cisco in 2000. He has taken varied roles throughout his Cisco career, including leading Cisco’s Brand Protection initiatives throughout Asia and Europe; and General Manager for Cisco’s Saudi Arabian business. Prior to his current role, Matthew was based in Bangalore as the Strategy and Operations lead for Cisco’s Globalisation team.


Prior to joining Cisco, Matthew had a variety of roles from that of an Officer in the Royal Navy, an Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police to a manager in a Big Four Accounting firm. 


Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Heriot Watt University.
